DESCRIPTION:This We Learn group is facilitated by Yong Myoung. I’m currently articulating my research in machine learning by using Python and R as tools. We’ll have a common platform which we can discuss: case example including data sets; beside that we’ll follow online learning platform\, Data Science: Machine Learning\, before we meet up. We’ll use various examples from my resources.\n\nWe Learn groups are volunteer-facilitated peer learning groups. We Learn Groups meet in person but use a hybrid model with online learning materials. SUMMARY:AIR Quilting Workshop: Open Studio Sew-a-Thon!
DESCRIPTION:Join Appalachian quiltmaker and storyteller Griffin Nordstrom for a hands-on exploration of quilting at CLP-West End. Griffin’s work explores themes of reuse through craft and reinterpreting history through a contemporary lens\, and these workshops invite you to do the same. \nParticipants will learn about a variety of quilting styles while contributing to a collaborative community quilt. All skill levels are welcome\, and you’re free to attend as many or as few sessions as you like. Materials and tools will be provided\, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer! \n\nAccess to sewing machines and tools to work on patches for the community quilt project. Griffin will be present to provide assistance while actively working in the studio and available to discuss his process and projects.

SUMMARY:AIR Workshop: Book Binding with Unique Materials
DESCRIPTION:Join the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Ash Strazzinski at the South Side Branch for a hands-on book making workshop. In this bookbinding workshop\, participants will create a one-of-a-kind book by binding unique materials. The books can then be used as the artist sees fit: a sketchbook\, a journal\, photo album\, or simply a bound collection of materials and textures. There will be a variety of supplies available to workshop participants to bind along with paper and collage materials from deaccessioned books. \nThe first hour of each session will be reserved for discussion and exploration of materials and DIY binding methods. The remaining three hours will be studio time where the artist-in-residence artist will be available to assist with binding. \nAttendance is *not* required for both sessions\, however\, participants are welcome and encouraged to attend both sessions as open studio/work time. \nQuestions?
