SUMMARY:LDA of PA Presents Early Literacy Tutoring
DESCRIPTION:LDA of PA is excited to offer its Early Literacy Instruction program for students in kindergarten through second grade at CLP – Hill District and CLP – Brookline. Pairing up to four students per tutor and utilizing multi-sensory reading tutoring techniques\, this program teaches reading\, spelling\, and handwriting in fun\, interactive\, and multisensory ways. The curriculum includes sight words\, sound mastery\, letter formation\, phonics\, vocabulary\, fluency\, reading comprehension\, the alphabetic principle\, and more. \nStudents that need reading support at specific grade levels can join fun and interactive classes:   \nAt CLP – Hill District we offer tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5 PM.   \nAt CLP – Brookline we offer tutoring Tuesday and Fridays 3-5 PM.   \nStudents will be expected to attend 2 sessions per week at their chosen library to make significant progress in their literacy skills. Registration is required. Once a student has registered\, LDA of PA will respond via email or phone to enroll the student in the appropriate class. DESCRIPTION:The U.S. has a large skilled labor shortage right now which is expected to grow over the next decade. Many trade career paths have salaries above the median wage\, without the high cost of a 4-year college degree. We’ll go over some of the various trade industry careers and local education and apprenticeship resources. This class takes place in the Job & Career Education Center on the second floor of CLP-Main Library.
