Best Books for Babies Publishers

Our annual Best Books for Babies list is created to encourage parents and caregivers to read aloud to their babies. It’s also meant to motivate authors, illustrators, and publishers to produce even more quality materials for babies ages birth to 18 months.

This year we looked at a lot of books, as usual, and wound up including 17 titles on our list of the ten Best Books for Babies. We know how to do math—we just found three sets of books that met our criteria—and we didn’t want to have to choose between them.

This year, nine publishers are represented on our list of 17 titles.

Child’s Play International published two sets of engaging books, accounting for six titles. Candlewick Press is featured with 100 primeras palabras by Edward Underwood (illustrator).

Gecko Press published Get Dressed, Belly Button! by Lucie Brunelliére, one of several titles with tactile elements. In this case, each page builds upon the prior one to build a baby’s outfit.

The joys of food are explored through this year’s list with books from Sourcebooks ExploreMagic Cat, and Charlesbridge Publishing.

Titles from Post WaveAmicus Ink, and Rise X Penguin Workshop round out the list.
