Hometown Horror!

Kristin Kristin

Pittsburgh officially claims pierogies, poorly (or perfectly?) timed left turns, and zombies as part of its cultural makeup! This city has a rich horror history with icons like George Romero and Tom Savini bringing their zombies to town on the hunt for brains. Recently it was announced that Pitt will be launching the first program to study horror. The University will support StokerCon, an annual conference for all things that go bump in the night. The event will be hosted in Steel City for the next ten years. If you are looking for an extra dose of hometown horror make sure to check out the Horror Film Trail. Just recently Lee Daniels filmed the horror fantasy film The Deliverance in Steeltown. Looking to learn more about our hometown horror history? Check out these titles and start zombie proofing now!!! (And don’t forget about all the other Romero movies always available on Hoopla with your Library card.)
