In preparation for their mural design for the Citizens Live at the Wylie venue in the Hill District, local artists Jameelah Platt, Naomi Chambers, and Max Gonzales will be seeking input and inspiration from the local community. A community “listening + making” session at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Hill District will invite residents to share stories and bring photos or memorabilia to be scanned and documented while youth complete guided drawing prompts that inform the mural’s themes. Multiple stations and short interviews will gather primary-source history without retaining any objects, helping the artist team shape an initial concept rooted in the neighborhood’s past and present, with support from CLP, Shiftworks, and a local food partner.
