Duquesne University’s Center for Integrative Health, in partnership with the Carnegie Library in Hazelwood and the American Heart Association, is proud to offer Hazelwood residents the opportunity to attend a free, in-person Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure Program. Sponsored by the American Heart Association, the Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure Program is an evidence-based hypertension management program which introduces at-home monitoring and tracking as key features to improve high blood pressure, physical activity, nutrition, and weight loss. Participants receive weekly incentives, including a free blood pressure monitor.
Key Features of the Program:
  • Facilitated by Pharmacists and Fifth-Year Students
  • Free five week program focused on personal goals toward better health
  • Opportunity and tools for self-monitoring and tracking progress
  • Receipt of an at-home blood pressure monitor
  • Incentives throughout the program

Participants must be 18+ years old and attend all 5 sessions: Thursdays, April 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7.
