We Learn: Film Discussion is a free, six-week community class at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh — West End Branch. Each Thursday evening we screen trailers, discuss a feature film, and dig into the themes, craft, and culture behind it. No film background required. Just bring your curiosity.

The theme this summer: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey — in theaters July 17. We’re using one of the most anticipated films of the year as a lens to explore how storytelling, myth, and cinema connect across generations.

????️ Field Trip to See The Odyssey
We’re planning an organized group outing to see The Odyssey in theaters — open to registered attendees. Details will be shared once you sign up. Register to stay in the loop.

This optional outing is not sponsored or funded by Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. Cost and transportation are the responsibility of the attendee.

Season Lineup — Thursdays, 6–7 PM

???? July 9 — O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
Homer’s Odyssey reimagined in the Depression-era American South — our kick-off.

???? July 16 — Sinners (2025)
Genre, myth, and music. (Bonus: go see The Odyssey this week!)

???? July 30 — The Odyssey (2025) — ⭐ Main Discussion
