The Share Your Stories program series is designed to help the Pittsburgh community connect with your neighbors and keep personal memories and local history alive at the Library. Each month, come to CLP – Main (Oakland) with photos, memorabilia and most importantly stories around a specific theme. This local history show-and-tell will give you a chance to share your experiences and learn from your neighbors.
From your Steelers tailgate traditions to your favorite neighborhood hangouts growing up, the Library is interested in what makes Pittsburgh your home. Your personal stories are more important than ever this year as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary and welcome the 2026 NFL Draft to Pittsburgh.
To find the upcoming events and themes, visit our events page. All Share Your Stories events will be held in-person in the “Free to the People” room on the 2nd floor of CLP – Main. Registration is not required.
January’s theme is Yinzer Pride! We are sharing and celebrating the things that make you proud to live in Pittsburgh. What are your favorite places in Pittsburgh? Have they changed over the years? Who are the people that have made Pittsburgh your home? We’ll discuss these questions and more on January 26, 2026 at 1 pm.
Preserve Your Memories with CLP
Do you want to make sure your memories are preserved in the future? You can donate digital copies of what you bring to Share Your Stories with CLP’s Digital Community Collection, a community archive preserving family and local history in the Pittsburgh region. While this is highly encouraged, it is not required when attending Share Your Stories events.
If you can’t make it in person, check out CLP’s Facebook and Instagram pages for ways to engage virtually with the hashtag #ShareYourStoriesCLP. If you’d like to contribute to our Digital Community Collection virtually, please email recollectionstudio@carnegielibrary.org.
