To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, this Kids Club will focus on the power of community, and the role strong communities play in our nation. Kids will explore how change starts locally and learn how being a good neighbor can help create positive change. Children will create a little town by designing a building to add. This event is part of America250PA programming.
This program will help teens articulate their intersections of identity in a fun, creative way to tell the story of their own life. They will also learn how to construct a map with different natural and architectural elements to highlight the different “environments” of who they are. Join us on a tour in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary and learn about the architecture and history of the iconic, historic CLP – Main. Participants will meet in the first floor Lobby. Registration encouraged. This event is part of America250PA programming.
Children will learn about CLP’s LAMP (Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians) location and how staff makes reading and art accessible for patrons with disabilities. They will also learn about braille and how to create tactile art that those with visual impairments will be able to appreciate.
