Celebrate Disability Pride Month With Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh

During Disability Pride Month and throughout the year, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is committed to highlighting and celebrating the diverse experiences and contributions of individuals with disabilities.

The Library recognizes this month as an opportunity to raise awareness, promote acceptance and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities.

Disability Pride Month 2026 marks the 36th anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which protects people with disabilities from discrimination. This landmark law was made possible by the tireless efforts of many disabled activists who fought for their rights to be seen, heard and represented in our community.

Throughout July, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will amplify the identities of those with visible and invisible disabilities. We invite you to celebrate with us in person and online by exploring curated booklists, displays, events, resources and more for library users of all ages.
